The Mire

The Mire is a location in Of Orcs And Men.

Overview

Structure

It is not clearly stated as a prison, but it is a fitting term, as Orcs from anywhere are being brought there and worked to the death, mining rock and stone. It lies underground and features many long, winded paths on which miners work on the rocks.

Inhabitants

The population is made up primarily of Orc slaves, meant to work to death, eventually. There are human guards on patrol and in their barracks that are changed every few days.

Marhlok serves as an Advisor to the Archivist, making recommendations on how to utilise an orc's strength best.
Adek is a foreman.
Gorkash is a foreman.

Hierarchy

Both humans and orcs are employed to keep the workers in check. The Mire is strictly controlled and there is no Black Market for weapons (and potentially other goods).

Geography

The Mire lies directly beneath the Inquisition's tower containing both the Inquisition Sanctuary and prisons as well as the Imperial Palace at the very top.
