The Mages are an ancient, religious order of powerful and wise Humans. They gain their magical power through long and hard mental and physical training.
Since the rise of the Inquisiton, the mages are getting rarer by the day. Only a handful of them remain in the Chamber of the Mages.
The Inquisition is trying to find a reason to shut the order down, and with them helping Arkaïl and Styx on their Quest to kill the Emperor, there seems to be one now.
